Aim

How should we resolve the Duhem-Quine paradox? This answer is "Micro-Macro duality" and the recursive method between the induction and the reduction based on it. The objection and phenomena to be described, classified, and interpreted and its terminology, the reference system, and the theoretical framework can be connected by the Fouier-Galoias duality or the adjunction in terms of category theory. Therefore, we can match the objective system and described system; the recursive property between the induction and the reduction can be freely realized due to the categorical universality. As examples, the quantization of the inner symmetry and representation theory on the non-commutative system, the generalization of its symmetry breaking, the quantization of the local-non thermodynamics state in the relativistic quantum field, the mathematical and physical generalization of measurement and amplification process. These examples can be compared under the representive, geometrical, and logical senses. Therefore, the local chart described under the proper condition can be formed to the network and its relationship between the neighborhoods becomes non-trivial and very important problem. This method is the concept of the scale. Due to this, the renormalization group, the non-additive statistics and the power law, the hierarchy problems are entangled. Therefore, we focus on the duality and scale. The concrete examples, for example, the mathematical and physical examples, from this viewpoint can directly connect the strength of the theory. Therefore, we organize this research meeting to open every researcher.

Request from Organizers

Organizing the workshops is one of the main activities of Yukawa Institute. We have the responsibility to report and publicize the scientific achievements of those workshops to funding agencies, the government, and tax-payers as well as academic communities in a comprehensible and clear way. As a first step, we are now trying to make a visible record of the achievements. For this reason, we would appreciate it if you would acknowledge a YITP workshop in your papers and your work motivated by it. As samples of acknowledgements,

The authors thank the Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics at Kyoto University, where this work was initiated [completed] during the YITP-W-10-14 on "Duality and Scale in Quantum-Theoretical Sciences".

The authors thank the Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics at Kyoto University. Discussions during the YITP workshop YITP-W-10-14 on "Duality and Scale in Quantum-Theoretical Sciences" were useful to complete this work.

Also we would like to ask you to register your papers through the form below. (In case of any trouble, please make contact with the organizers.) The data will be incorporated both into the YITP Web page and into the annual report of our institute. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
